Rylan Clark is the BBC’s favourite to become the new Strictly host but faces screen tests with other contenders to assess their chemistry: ‘He will be a ratings winner!’

As presenter of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two, along with co-host Zoe Ball, Rylan Clark won millions of fans.

He clearly made an impression on bosses, too, because the 37-year-old is now in line for a promotion – as one of the replacements for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on the BBC’s Saturday night dance extravaganza.

BBC sources say he has been invited to an audition at which he will be paired with other potential hosts, including Irish broadcaster and former Strictly contestant Angela Scanlon, 42.
