After white smoke rose from the Sistine Chapel on May 8, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, 69, was introduced to the world as Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope in history.

While many imagine popes as solemn and distant, the new pontiff’s brother, John Prevost, revealed a surprisingly human side. In an interview with NBC News, he shared that the two often play Wordle and Words With Friends together. “It helps take his mind off the real world,” John explained.

He even joked with his brother: “Did you watch the movie Conclave so you know how to behave?” — to which Pope Leo replied he’d just watched it.
