One expert has shared some advice about one of the more surprising signs of infidelity that you may not have thought of.
Sure, everybody knows to be wary of new numbers on a phone or if your partner starts hiding their devices, but there’s something more subtle you might miss.
When was the last time you paid for something with cash?
In an increasingly digital world, many of us use the wallet on our phone to store card details, or just tap a debit card when paying the cashier or out for dinner.
However, for obvious reasons this keeps a log of what you spent, when, and where, and especially if you and your partner share a bank account, it’s much more noticeable.
Cassie Crofts runs a private investigator agency and regularly shares advice on what to keep an eye out for on TikTok.
In one of her videos, she warned: “This is the number one sign of cheating, that everybody misses!”
Cassie continued: “We’re basically a cashless society these days, so if your partner has always been about tap-and-go, using a credit card for reward points and suddenly starts doing ATM withdrawals – that’s a breadcrumb worth following.
“Cash doesn’t leave a trail.”
She added: “If they go to a restaurant and spend $200, you can be pretty sure they weren’t dining solo. But $200 cash withdrawal? You’ve got no idea what happened.”
While it could be totally innocent, if your partner suddenly starts making cash a habit, you might want to double check why.
And it seems to be a trend that has been noticed by a brothel manager, too.
Catherine De Noire said many clients end up needing to go to an ATM, explaining: “The first thing is that a lot of guys don’t carry enough cash. So then they go and withdraw money from an ATM, which is usually somewhere near the brothel or inside the brothel.
“This is very suspicious, especially when you see that your partner withdraws a lot of money at 4 am in the morning in this area, and the account is a shared one.”
Hopefully, you won’t be spotting any sizeable cash withdrawals from the bank anytime soon.
