At first, it seemed like nothing serious. A small trace of red wax near the front door lock — as if someone had accidentally touched the door with a candle or left a strange stain after some kind of repair. The woman wiped it off with a napkin and did not think much of it.

But a few days later, the wax appeared again. Almost in the exact same place. This time, the mark was more noticeable — a red line ran around the metal part of the lock, as if it had been placed there on purpose. That was when her mother-in-law, who sometimes visited her after her son passed away, began to worry.

The woman lived alone. After losing her husband, she was trying to return to normal life, but now even her own front door started to feel unsettling. None of the relatives knew where the wax could have come from. The neighbors had not seen anything suspicious either, although one of them mentioned noticing an unfamiliar man near the entrance in the evening.
