Scientist known as ‘Dr Death’ dies and his bizarre final wish for his own body is actually being granted

A scientist who was best known for inventing the plastination process has died aged 81 after a battle with Parkinson’s.

Dr Gunther von Hagens is best known for discovering and developing a method to preserve dead human bodies in a rigid state.

Known also as “Doctor Death,” the German developed a technique called plastination, which replaces fluids and fatty tissue in corpses with rubber and polymers.
