Bindi Irwin opens up about the death of her dad
The star was just eight years old when her dad, who was fatally stung by a stingray while filming in Australia, passed away.
Speaking to People about the loss of her dad at such a young age, the mom said: “Grief is a very funny thing where it changes over time.
“But I remember when I was little and dad had just died and every adult I saw would say to me, ‘Time heals all wounds’ and I remember thinking, ‘what in the heck does that mean?’”

The star added: “Now, at 26, that information is wrong.
“Time changes your grief, time changes your perspective, but I know first hand that the grief and sadness and the feelings of loss from losing dad.
“That feeling is just a part of me, it’s like a scar on your heart.”
But in a devastating update, Irwin revealed how she has struggled in recent years.

Describing her life with the condition, she said: “I felt utterly ashamed as a teenager and young adult being told that my pain was just part of being a woman.
“I felt lesser. I felt hurt. I felt weak.”
Calling for more action, she added: “That is not okay. Young girls and women shouldn’t feel alone with pain in the driver’s seat of their lives.
“We need to take away the stigma of talking about women’s health.
“It’s time to have open discussions and make change on a global scale.”

The conservationist sent ‘light and love’ to those battling the same condition.
While endometriosis can affect fertility, Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell are parents to five-year-old daughter Grace.
The star shared a candid update
Reflecting on the surgeries she has undergone, Bindi revealed that doctors had removed 51 endometriosis lesions and a chocolate cyst. She also underwent an appendectomy and had a hernia caused by childbirth repaired.
“My hernia from giving birth that was unzipping – was taken care of,” she added.
In an emotional statement she shared with fans, the zookeeper said: “I can FINALLY say that I’m feeling better.
“Genuinely healing. I can function in everyday life without wanting to throw up or pass out from the pain.
“Slowly, slowly gaining my strength back.”
After living with the condition for over a decade, she added: “I cannot express the gravity of my emotions as I am beginning to recognize myself again.”
But the road to recovery has not been easy.
After living with endometriosis for so long, the mom-of-one said: “Trying to remain a positive person & hide the pain has been a very long road.

“These last 10 years have included many tests, doctor’s visits, scans, etc.
“A doctor told me it was simply something you deal with as a woman, & I gave up entirely, trying to function through the pain.”
What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of the chronic condition include extreme pelvic pain, debilitating fatigue, pain during or after s**, heavy periods, and more.
She added: “Going in for surgery was scary but I knew I couldn’t live like I was.”
And Bindi isn’t the only celebrity to have suffered from the condition.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Spice Girl Emma Bunton said: “I remember the doctor saying at the time, ‘fifty percent of women with endometriosis go on to have children.’
“I thought, ‘Only 50 percent?’ It scared the life out of me.”
