A Happy Meal and a Heart Full of Sorrow

A Happy Meal and a Heart Full of Sorrow

After a lengthy day, I decided to stop at McDonald’s for a quick meal. While I was waiting, I observed a woman and her young daughter—dressed modestly, their clothing worn yet clean.

The little girl requested a toy from her mother, but the mother gently declined, explaining that they could only afford the food.

Moved by their quiet interaction, I anonymously added a Happy Meal to their order. From my seat, I witnessed the girl’s face brighten with joy upon discovering the toy inside. Her excitement was contagious, and for a fleeting moment, her mother appeared genuinely relaxed.
