Dani and Nathan seemed destined for each other when they first met in high school and married a few years later. But after just two years of marriage, things changed. Nathan became critical, especially about Dani’s appearance, accusing her of “letting herself go” and even implying she was a bad mother, despite her dedication to their newborn daughter, Ellie.
Dani tried to please Nathan but eventually gave up, seeing their marriage falling apart. When Nathan got a new job, they moved to a different city, and Dani hoped the change would improve their relationship.
However, after the move, Dani noticed Ellie acting strangely and even crying. When she asked Ellie what was wrong, the little girl tearfully revealed that her teacher, Miss Allen, had told her she would be a better mother than Dani. Shocked, Dani realized Nathan was having an affair with Miss Allen.
That evening, Dani confronted Nathan, who admitted to the affair and also revealed that he had been unfaithful with another woman before the move. He had relocated to escape the complications of that relationship.
Dani realized her marriage was beyond repair. She moved Ellie to a new school, filed for divorce, and left Nathan to visit his daughter whenever he wanted. Dani prioritized protecting Ellie from the fallout of her father’s actions.
