In tributes, his bandmates described him as more than just a musician: he was a friend, a comedic spirit, and a partner in song. Paul Rodgers said his “heart hit the ground” upon hearing the news, adding, “He has left us with exceptional songs and memories.” Drummer Simon Kirke echoed the sentiment, calling him “an exceptional guitarist and a dear friend.”
Ralphs’ journey through music began long before Bad Company. He had previously been a key member of Mott The Hoople, contributing to the glam rock explosion with classics like All The Young Dudes — written by David Bowie. His next chapter with Bad Company — which also included members of Free and King Crimson — produced timeless hits such as Can’t Get Enough, Rock Steady, and Bad Company.
Later this year, the band is expected to be honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame — a fitting tribute to Ralphs’ monumental role in rock history.
