FBI Issue Major Update On Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect

The FBI has issued a major update on the killing of Charlie Kirk, as new information about the suspect has been revealed.

FBI agent Robert Bohls has given an update on the suspect responsible for the shooting of Charlie Kirk.

The 31-year-old was shot dead at his own event on a university campus in Utah on Wednesday evening (September 10).

Beau Mason, commissioner of the Department of Public Safety, confirmed that Kirk died in hospital following the fatal shot wound to the neck.

He noted that the shooter fired the bullet from the roof of the campus.

Mason said: “After the shooting, we were able to track his movements as he moved to the other side of the building, jumped off the building, and fled off the campus and into a neighbourhood.”

FBI agent Bohls further noted that they have located the weapon used in the shooting, which they believe to be a high powered bolt action rifle.

Bohl said: “That rifle was was recovered in a wooded area where the shooter had fled. The FBI laboratory will be analysing this weapon.”

In addition to the weapon, detectives also found ‘palm print and forearm imprints’ which have been taken to the laboratory for analysis.

The FBI believe that the shooter was of college age.

Agent Bohl added: “We are confident in our abilities to track that individual.

“If we’re unsuccessful in identifying them immediately, we will reach out for the public’s help and the media’s help in pushing those photos.”

“We’re not sure how far he has gone yet,” he noted.

President Trump issued a statement yesterday evening, confirming Kirk’s death.

It read: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.

“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.

Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
