Limp Bizkit Legend Has Died

Limp Bizkit has announced the death of a band member as tributes from fans pour in.

The US nu-metal group formed in 1994, and released their first single ‘Counterfeit’ in 1997.

They achieved mainstream success with their albums ‘Significant Other’ (1999) and ‘Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water’ (2000), which topped the US charts.

Following the death of the band member, tributes have poured in from fans on X (formerly Twitter).

One said: “Aw man, this is sad. Rest in peace.”

Another added: “Sad day their music was so great when I was a kid.”

“What sad news indeed, we are watching the departure of great rock musicians who shaped a generation,” a third noted.

Somebody else said: “Rest in power! You will live on through your music and the lives you helped save with your music, charity work and friendships.”

Limp Bizkit released a joint statement announcing the sad news.

It read: “In Loving Memory of Our Brother.

“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat.

“He wasn’t just our bass player – he was pure magic.

“The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”

They added: “From the first note we ever played together, he brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced.

“His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous.

“We shared so many moments – wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones – and every one of them meant more because he was there.”

Fred Durst, a member of Limp Bizkit, noted that the star was ‘so talented.’

His bandmates further described him as ‘a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human,’ and a ‘true legend of legends.’

“His spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory.”

Concluding the statement, the band wrote: “We love you, Sam. We’ll carry you with us, always. Rest easy, brother.

“Your music never ends.”

It was confirmed over the weekend that Sam Rivers, vocalist and base guitar player in the band, had died at the age of 48.

While a cause of death has not been revealed, it’s been reported that the 48-year-old had previously opened up about heavy drinking that led to liver disease.

The rockstar left the band in 2015 and received a liver transplant, reuniting with the band three years later.
