Donald Trump’s recent remarks on egg prices have sparked both praise and criticism.

During a press conference on March 12, Trump boasted that egg prices had dropped “almost 30 percent in the last few days,” a claim that left many skeptical. Some social media users mocked his statement, calling it misleading, while others questioned why he continues to “get away with” such claims.

However, data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture supported his statement. Trading Economics reported that a dozen eggs, which peaked at $8.17 in March 2025, had dropped to $5.51 by March 11. Wholesale prices also fell from over $8 to just above $4 per dozen.
