He also appeared to push back against Trump’s VP pick, JD Vance, by sharing an op-ed titled “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others.”
Despite their differences, Trump congratulated Pope Leo XIV and expressed interest in meeting him — but the newly elected pontiff’s past tweets may suggest that their first encounter could be more than just ceremonial.
