I won’t lie, it was a huge surprise for me because this was quite unusual for him, but I wasn’t complaining!
He stood there, smiling, but it was a smile that seemed to hold layers I hadn’t seen before. The meal he cooked looked and smelled divine!
“Why all the fuss?” I asked, letting the surprise and delight wash over me, yet a part of me lingered on the edge of suspicion. It was an ordinary day, untouched by any special anniversaries or celebrations.
He shuffled nervously, avoiding my gaze. “Can’t I do something nice for my wife without a reason?” he tried to joke, but the laughter didn’t reach his eyes.

After dinner, he left me in awe when he got up and cleaned up, doing all the dishes by hand!
We were finishing our glasses of wine, and I jokingly mentioned that it seemed like he was trying to butter me up for something and asked if something was up, and to my surprise, he hesitated before answering…

The revelation was a physical blow, staggering me with its force. While I was still processing the shock, he dropped another bombshell! “And… she might be pregnant with twins,” he added, his voice barely a whisper.

Rage, betrayal, sorrow, and disbelief—it all collided within me! “How could you?” I demanded, my voice rising with each word. I wanted to scream, to cry, to lash out at him for destroying our marriage like this! “How could you do this to us?”
“It was a mistake. I never meant for any of this to happen,” he pleaded, but his words fell on deaf ears.
I was livid! Sleeping with someone else outside our marriage until they made babies was something he called a “mistake?!” How could he have not meant “it” to happen if he continued until they got to this point?!
And just when I thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse, he said something that made my blood run cold. “And I can’t hide who she is,” he continued cryptically, his voice a tremor of regret and fear. Then he whipped his phone out before making a call and said, “Come in.”
The door suddenly creaked open behind me, heralding the entrance of the last person I ever expected to see in this mess of betrayal as I turned around. My heart stopped and lost consciousness when I saw —MY SISTER!!!
