It was only by the fourth paragraph of the announcement that it became clear: Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg and her husband Nicolas Bagory are expecting their second child.
The statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess are delighted to announce that Princess Alexandra and Mr. Nicolas Bagory are expecting their second child. Both families share in their joy.”
The baby is expected to arrive in the autumn. Just last May, the couple welcomed their first child — a daughter named Victoire.
In 2011, changes to the succession laws allowed women to be included in the line to the throne, and Princess Alexandra was officially added along with her future children.
Today, she is sixth in line to the throne. In addition to fulfilling her duties as an active working royal, Alexandra is also a professional linguist. Her husband, Nicolas, originally from Brittany, France, works on social and cultural initiatives based in Paris.
