The former First Lady, has died after battling a “long illness,” according to the office of former Governor Jim Gilmore.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin shared his reaction to her death in a release from his office.

“Suzanne and I are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend, former First Lady Roxane Gilmore,” Youngkin said in the release. “Our prayers are with Governor Gilmore, his sons Jay and Ashton, their families and Roxane’s extended family. Virginia has lost a wonderful woman who touched the lives of many Virginians.”
