While mourners gathered to pay their respects, videos shared by C-SPAN and later reposted on social media quickly shifted attention to Trump’s demeanor.

The video captured Trump arriving with his security detail before taking a seat beside Vance. As the service unfolded, he stood with the congregation during portions of the ceremony before returning to his seat.
As the service continued, one sequence appeared to show Trump taking several deep breaths while standing beside Vance. Moments later, the two briefly turned toward each other, seemingly exchanging a few quiet words before returning their attention to the ceremony.
Later, Trump remained seated with his head lowered for several moments before lifting it again.

The Funeral Moment That Divided Viewers Online
Some viewers suggested that Trump had briefly fallen asleep. On Facebook, one netizen asked, “Is he breathing funny?” Another user wrote, “It’s the gasping for air for me. ,” while a third remarked, “He’s taking some pretty big breaths just for walking over .”
Instagram users focused on the later portion of the ceremony.
One commenter wrote, “He almost fell out of the pew 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.” Another user posted, “Must be painful to stay awake. 🙄🤣🤣🤣.” A separate commenter wrote, “Falling asleep isn’t respectful.” Others defended the president’s appearance.

Another Moment During the Service Caught Viewers’ Attention
Another clip shifted attention to a different moment during the funeral. According to the caption, the service had reached the three-hour mark when Trump appeared to take out a pack of Tic Tacs while seated beside Vance.
The footage showed Trump placing a mint in his mouth before extending the pack toward Vance. Vance smiled as he looked down toward Trump’s hand, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, seated on Vance’s other side, also appeared to smile during the brief exchange.
On Facebook, a viewer wrote, “Looks like the service hadn’t even started. I think we’ve all done that.” Another shared, “Kinda nice he offered one to JD, I’m not a big fan of either of them but this is a nice moment.” A third remarked, “What a shock! 😭.”
A second angle of the exchange sparked more discussion. A different person commented, “Lindsey would be the first one to laugh!” while another observer shared, “He was tired…it was way too long. I felt bad for him. He’s not used to sitting!!!”
Someone else added, “You are right. Not a dull moment with our President. Sen Graham would definitely approve lol [sic].”
