‘Mercy sex’ explained by a psychotherapist as women admit to doing it with their partners

A psychotherapist has explained what ‘mercy sex’ really means, after women admitted to having sex with their partners despite not initially wanting to.

According to recent findings published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, and cited by Psy Post, women experiencing a ‘chronic lack of sexual desire’ still routinely engage in sexual activity with their partners.

Researchers have quantified such behaviour happening about two and a half times per month.
