Mom of woman shot dead by ICE in Minneapolis speaks out in emotional statement

Renee Nicole Good’s mother has spoken out following the 37-year-old’s unexpected death.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have descended on Minneapolis as part of the White House crackdown. But things took a turn for the worse yesterday (January 7) when ICE officers conducted ‘targeted operations’ that resulted in Renee Nicole Good’s death.

The Department of Homeland Security claims that Good — who was a US citizen — ‘weaponized her vehicle’ and tried to run over an ICE officer before she was shot.

The officer in question supposedly ‘fired defensive shots’, leading to Good being fatally injured.

Good was mom to a six-year-old child who is now believed to be orphaned following the death of his father in 2023, Metro reports.

Her death has sparked protests across Minneapolis calling for ICE to be removed from the Minnesota city.

Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, has now spoken out following her daughter’s sudden passing.

She told the Minnesota Star Tribune about her daughter: “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.

“She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”

Ganger added that Good was ‘probably terrified’ in the moments leading up to her death and said it was ‘stupid’ that her 37-year-old child was shot and killed.

In regard to the protests that were taking place on the day in question, Ganger insisted that Good was ‘not part of anything like that at all’ — but President Donald Trump branded Good as ‘a professional agitator’.

Addressing the matter on Truth Social, the POTUS penned: “I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch.

“The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”

Refuting this, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said that the idea that Good tried to run over an ICE officer was ‘bullsh*t’.

“Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bullsh*t,” Frey said, per The Hill, adding: “This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”

In a press conference shortly after Good’s death, Frey demanded that ICE ‘get the f**k out of Minneapolis’, adding: “They are not here to cause safety in this city. What they are doing is not to provide safety in America. What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust.”
