Barron Trump has left the internet in stitches after Donald Trump revealed his ‘best skill.’
All eyes have increasingly turned to Barron in recent months, with the youngest son of Donald Trump becoming an unlikely talking point across social media.
Despite largely staying out of the political spotlight compared to other members of the Trump family, Barron has found himself trending online more frequently – sometimes for reasons that are as bizarre as they are viral.
From speculation about his towering height to tongue-in-cheek posts calling for him to be ‘drafted’ in the event of a future war, the internet has developed a fascination with the teenager.
Now, the spotlight has intensified once again after Trump publicly revealed what he considers his son’s ‘best skill.’
The comment quickly made its way across social media platforms, where users wasted little time turning the remark into yet another round of memes – leaving Barron once again at the center of online mockery.
Barron Trump and the military draft
With the war in Iran raging on, the talk of a military draft has become more and more prominent in recent days.
While Trump has claimed there is ‘nothing left to target’ in Iran, signifying an impending end to American attacks in the country, experts and critics alike are in disagreement.
Most notably, a recent warning delivered by the FBI to police departments in California that Iran may target the West Coast state with drone attacks signifies that the war is far from over.
Iran also continues to engage in hostilities via Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and by directing drones into neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Any further escalation could see troops deployed into Iran, which could potentially mean a military draft.The US has not undertaken mandatory conscription into the armed forces since 1973. However, in December, 2025, an amended version of the National Defense Authorization Act was passed, incorporating automatic registration with the Selective Service for certain Americans.
“Under existing legislation, all male US citizens and male immigrants between 18 and 25 must register with the Selective Service System, a database utilised to monitor those who might be summoned to serve in the US Army should a draft be reintroduced,” per the Mirror.
The recent amendment would allow the US government to automatically enrol eligible males into the army rather than them self-registering.
This has led to calls for Barron to be drafted by some Americans, although the imposing height of the President’s son, standing at 6’9, means that he is reportedly unsuitable for many military tasks, as his height would make it difficult for him to engage in tight spaces, if necessary.
This hasn’t stopped thousands of US citizens from taking to social media with one simple demand, however: Draft Barron Trump.
“I am not joking about drafting Barron — send him in first,” wrote one user.
Another agreed: “Barron should be the first one to be drafted.”
A third was equally direct: “Barron’s name should be at the tippy-top of the list.”
When someone pointed out that Barron might be medically exempt, a fourth replied with three words: “Like father, like son.”
Donald Trump reveals Barron’s ‘best skill’
Amid calls for Barron to be drafted in the event of a war, footage has resurfaced online in which Trump reveals what his youngest son’s ‘best skill’ is.
It is not a video that casts the youngest Trump in a positive light, however.
While Barron won’t be heading into Iran any time soon, he is still facing plenty of heavy artillery online.
The footage in the aforementioned video is from an interview Trump conducted with Fox News, in which he discusses his son.
When asked what Barron’s strongest skill is, Trump replies: “Maybe technology. He can look at a computer, but I try turning it off. I turn off his laptop, and I say, ‘Oh, good.’ I go back five minutes later, and he’s got his laptop, and I say, ‘How did you do that?’
“‘None of your business, dad.’ He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
Naturally, being able to turn a laptop off and on is not something that a lot of people online think is particularly impressive. Even if it is a large part of any IT department’s job, if we’re being honest.
Social media mocks Barron
In comments underneath the video, shared by Hot Takes, one user replied, per the Mirror: “Have we thought about having Barron Trump just hack Iran?
“We were once told that Barron Trump was a computer genius, possessing such unheard of skills as ‘turning off a computer’ and ‘turning it back on’. I think, with this level of unrivalled computer wizardry, we need to have Barron hack into Iran’s military and shut everything down.”
Another commenter joked: ”Then put him in service. He needs to serve,” with another adding, ”He definitely didn’t get those skills from Trump.”
Another reply read: “Um, anyone older than eight knows how to turn on a laptop. And oh, if you accidentally unplug it and plug it back in, it also turns back on.”
So, probably not a skillset that would be suited to a military operation, then?
