Former President Joe Biden, 82, is facing a serious health challenge, his office announced on Sunday.

The statement comes after weeks of speculation regarding the former leader’s condition, sparked by noticeable changes in his public schedule and recent medical examinations.

Just a week ago, officials revealed that doctors had identified a “small nodule” during a routine physical. Though initially downplayed, it prompted a series of more in-depth evaluations.

The official update now confirms that this nodule is part of a much broader medical concern, one that has already required consultations with multiple specialists. The condition has also reportedly begun affecting other areas of his body.

According to the latest report, Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has already metastasized to his bones. The Gleason score—a grading system used to evaluate the severity—was reported as 9 (Grade Group 5), one of the most serious classifications.

While this diagnosis is concerning, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive, meaning there are potentially effective treatment options.

Biden, who made history as the oldest president to take office, had a history of minor health issues, including skin lesions removed during and before his presidency.

His age and health were a central issue during political debates, and recent revelations have intensified scrutiny. The Democratic Party has reportedly begun internal discussions about leadership transitions and long-term plans.

In light of his condition, the Biden family is currently reviewing treatment paths and outcomes with his team of physicians.
