A quiet Los Angeles neighborhood was shattered by gunfire in the middle of the night, leaving residents terrified and searching for answers. What happened in just a few seconds turned several families’ lives upside down and sparked a wave of questions that police still cannot fully answer. Witnesses described shadowy figures appearing out of nowhere and a sudden storm of bullets that sent people rushing out of their homes.
The first moments after the attack were pure chaos: sirens, screams, and neighbors trying to understand who had been targeted and why. According to investigators, the assault was so fast and precise that it seemed the shooters knew exactly whom they were looking for. Everything pointed to a planned ambush, carried out coldly and giving those inside the car almost no chance to escape.
Dozens of shell casings were found at the scene. Police reported that the attackers approached a parked car on Bryant Street in Northridge and opened fire at close range. Everyone inside the vehicle was hit. Two victims remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives. Detectives have not released any official theories regarding the motive.
Only several days into the investigation did authorities confirm the identity of the person killed that night. The victim was a 22-year-old rising star in the Latin music scene — Maria De La Rosa, better known by her stage name DELAROSA. An influencer with more than 40,000 followers, she had just begun to break through, releasing her single No Me Llames in August, which was gaining momentum.

Police said DELAROSA was rushed to a hospital by a private party, but doctors could not save her. The gunmen fled before officers arrived, and detectives are now working to identify them and determine whether the attack was gang-related.
The investigation continues, but one thing is already clear: the ambush took the life of a young artist whose career had only just begun — a stark reminder of how fragile fame can be in a city that never sleeps.
