Haunting footage captures the moment a 37-year-old woman was shot dead by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
Protests have broken out in Minneapolis overnight after a woman’s life was taken by a US immigration officer.
Footage of the harrowing ordeal has since circulated on social media, capturing the very moment her life was ended by the official.
Who was the woman shot by ICE?
The 37-year-old who was shot dead on January 7 while driving away from US immigration officers has been identified as Renee Nicole Good.
The US citizen is being remembered as a loving mother and partner, whose family have been left completely shocked by the circumstances surrounding her death.
The shooting took place on a street that was covered in snow, and an ICE vehicle had reportedly gotten stuck.
According to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, passersby were ‘harassing them,’ and it was alleged that victim Good used her vehicle in an attempt to run over an officer over.
She further alleged that the federal agent fired ‘defensive shots’ and was himself injured.
President Trump has released a statement in response to the tragic event.
Eyewitnesses describe the harrowing ordeal
In heartbreaking footage captured by eyewitnesses, her harrowing final moments were revealed.
Onlooker Emily Heller told CNN reporters exactly what she saw.
The eyewitness explained hearing ICE agents shouting at the woman, trying to open her card door.
The victim swiftly put her car into reverse, and began pulling away from the situation.
Speaking to the US publication, she said: “An ICE agent stepped in front of her vehicle and said, ‘Stop!’ and then – I mean, she was already moving – and then, point blank, shot her through her windshield in the face.”
Following the two gunshots, the car lost control, and was seen crashing into a parked vehicle nearby on the street.
Homeland Security Secretary Noem noted that ICE operations in the city would continue to go ahead, and that the FBI would fully investigate the deadly incident.
