Major supermarket issues urgent recall over fears product contains GLASS

Customers of one of the country’s largest grocery retailers are being urged to stay alert. The company has issued an urgent safety warning that has sparked concern among shoppers nationwide.

The alert involves a popular item that many may have already purchased — and which now poses a potential health risk.

An official announcement released earlier this week explains that a product sold across multiple regions may contain hazardous contamination.

Consumers are advised not to consume the item, even if it appears completely safe on the surface. The issue affects a specific batch, but due to the product’s wide distribution, swift action is required.

The recall concerns Urban Eats Japanese Style Vegetable Gyoza, sold at Aldi stores in New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia. According to Food Standards Australia, the product has been found to contain glass fragments, posing a serious danger to anyone who eats it. The affected batch carries a best before date of March 27, 2027.

“The presence of glass in food products may cause injury or illness if consumed,” the agency stated. Customers are urged to immediately return the item to the store for a full refund, and anyone concerned about their health after consuming the product should seek medical advice.

To assist with the process, Aldi has established a dedicated Food Recall Hotline at 1800 709 993. More details can be found on the company’s official website.
